Households in Pembrokeshire will this week be receiving a form asking residents to check whether the information that appears on the electoral register for that address is correct.

The enquiry is part of Pembrokeshire County Council's annual canvass of households.

The aim is to ensure that the electoral register is up to date, and to identify any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.

With important National Assembly of Wales and Police and Crime Commissioner elections taking place in May, 2016, this is an early opportunity for residents to make sure that they will be able to take part.

It's particularly important that anyone who has moved address recently looks out for this information to ensure that they are registered.

The City/Town/Community Council plays an important role within your community and is key to help to spread the message by raising the issue at a meeting or including links in a newsletter or webpage.

If you have any questions can call the helpline on 01437 775844 or email IER@pembrokeshire.gov.uk
