Llangwm Rugby Club

The Llangwm R.F.C is a well established and thriving club with rugby having been played in the village since 1885.

The club has an extremely proud and renowned history with previous teams competing successfully in the West of Llanelli League and dominating Pembrokeshire rugby in the 1950's and 1960's.  Representative honours at the club have gone to Maurice Palmer - Welsh Schools, John Brock - Welsh Youth and more recently Andrew George - Welsh Schools. The club has also had the honour of Osmonde John, O.B.E. becoming president of the W.R.U. in 1981-82.

The club currently has a 1st XV competing in the national league, Division West A, a Youth XV, competing in the Pembrokeshire league and an extremely popular and thriving junior/mini section.  The 1st XV and Youth XV play their matches on Saturdays throughout the season, while the junior XV play on Sunday mornings.

The club is always looking for additional players, coaches, and others to help and become involved in the life of the Club. It is an amenity well used and enjoyed by the greater community.

Llangwm Cricket Club

Llangwm Cricket Club have two senior sides in the Pembrokeshire County Cricket Club League. Junior Coaching provided on Tuesday evenings in the season, with the Club having age group sides at U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19 (as part of the Cleddau Crusaders).

The Club had an excellent season last year and we look forward eagerly to our 1st XI playing in the top division of the Pembroke County Cricket Club Cricket League, and also to our 2nd XI returning to the 4th division.

New players are very welcome to join us as we play an entertaining style of cricket as well as being fiercely proud of our record over the many years we have been carrying the flag for the village at cricket. All are welcome to come along to Pill Parks on weekends and weekday evenings to support us and enjoy good company around the boundary and in the Stand Bar & Tearoom where the views over the Cleddau and our cricket field are amazing. Saturday afternoon games start at 1.30pm.

Llangwm and Hook have linked up to form a joint Ormond Youth Cup team to enable players from both Clubs to participate as neither Club was able to enter a full team in their own right this season. In 2017 the team won the Ormond Cup plate competition, beating Haverfordwest in Lawrenny and this season, the competition for Under 17 players will see the team take on Narberth, Whitland and a combined Cresselly/Lawrenny side in group B. The two villages have also formed an Under 15 team to play in the County league and Llangwm have their own teams at Under 13, Under 11 and Under 9. Group games are scheduled to be completed by Friday July 13th before the semi final stage between the group winners and runners up. The Plate final will take place on Friday August 3rd at Lawrenny with the Ormond Cup Final due to take place on Sunday August 26th at Carew.
